'MEDIA ADVISORY: MU “Cosmic Conversations” to Discuss Sights of the Sky'

WHAT: During February’s “Cosmic Conversations,” MU experts will discuss what the amateur astronomer can view from home without using expensive equipment. Discussion will center on a “top ten” list of sky phenomena visible from mid-Missouri without visual aids. In addition, lecturers will discuss the constellations and planets visible in the late winter and spring.
The University of Missouri Department of Physics and Astronomy in the College of Arts and Science and the Central Missouri Astronomical Association host the monthly lecture series, “Cosmic Conversations.”
Lectures take place on the first Wednesday of each month. Laws Observatory, an observatory deck on the fifth floor of the physics building, will be open after each lecture to view the stars.
